NIKE, always a leader in innovation in the areas of sport, fashion and fitness, brings a new aesthetic to women’s athletic training. This time around teaming up with Berlin-based designer Johanna Schneider, Nike combines fashion forward design with ultimate versatility through a modular capsule collection. The NikeLab x JFS collection includes pieces built specifically for the different stages of a workout for warm up to cool down. Pieces from the collection are designed to be adaptable, morphing in both volume and position on the female form every step of the way. Speaking on the collaboration and her process, Schneider says,
“For me, clothing is like entering a room. I’m creating environments. And the ideal environment has to be modular. On some occasions, I want to be more covered up or I need more support. On other occasions, I want my clothing to breathe; I want it to open up. All garments of the collection are built to move and interact with the female body in motion,” Schneider says. “My idea of feminine silhouettes is a balance of hiding and revealing parts of the body. I don’t want the athlete to be distracted by the garment while she is working out.”
The collection includes tights, bras, tanks and other workout staples. The NikeLab x JFS 2015 spring collection will be available on February 26 at NikeLab locations and select retailers worldwide. See more here.
