Being a Girl, is not that easy sometimes… many opposite sex companions do not even know what we are capable of. A new social media campaign aims to repurpose the phrase, “like a girl”, into something more positive. Often the phrase is used to describe an action that’s seen as weak, or silly. The phrase is even used to demean women and men alike. Director Lauren Greenfield writes:
“In my work as a documentarian, I have witnessed the confidence crisis among girls and the negative impact of stereotypes first-hand. When the words ‘like a girl’ are used to mean something bad, it is profoundly disempowering.”
