The debut of the Nike-Supreme collaboration on the new Nike Air Foamposite 1, were suppose to release yesterday. From the second the Nike Foamposite x Supreme collab was announced, it was pretty clear the line for this thing was gonna be crazy, and apparently it was. The release drew hundreds of people to SoHo yesterday before 6 p.m. The $250 sneakers were set to go on sale at midnight, but the crowds of sneakerheads proved to be too much. The line was shut down by the NYPD Wednesday afternoon when Lafayette Street and the surrounding area had been occupied by both sneaker heads and gawkers.

Supreme shut things down later into the evening, announcing:
“Due to concern for public safety, NYPD has forced us to not sell the Supreme/Nike Foamposites and accompanying clothing in our New York Store. These items will be available on supremenewyork.com tomorrow at 11am EST.”
