WEB SERIES: “FEMINIST ENOUGH” A WEB SERIES That CHALLENGES STEREOTYPES

Feminist Enough is described as a,

Video storytelling project that allows women of color to vocalize their views on feminism in their own words—most of which goes against the popular, sensationalized images of feminism in the mainstream.

Created by PR strategist Shannon Washington, Feminist Enough aims to allow women a safe space to be as much a feminist as they’d like to be, or not. Modern feminism has definitely taken a turn. For one, it seems that a lot more women are self identifying as pro-woman, but at the same time, these women are often placed into an area with boundaries as to what counts as being a feminist. For an example, Beyonce considers herself one, but many do not believe in her “brand” of feminism. And for the most part, it’s often other feminists shaming and attacking their own for one reason or another. Talk about walking on egg shells. The truth is, feminism can be just as unique as women, its definitely something we all tend to forget a lot.

The purpose of this project is not to push a certain agenda nor viewpoint, but rather allow various women to advocate for their own view of feminism.

  1. entered in feminism in my search bar and selected images, it took pages of scrolling to find the first picture of a woman of color. I did this because of an article I was reading on the independent feminist website, interesting.
