Artist Hitomi Hosono uses porcelain to create beautifully crafted silhouettes. Botanical pieces, mostly blooming foliage, leaves and flowers. Using movement and detail, Hosono gains inspiration from her own memories of nature from her childhood in Japan, where her family owns a rice farm.
I find myself drawn to the intricacy of plants, examining the veins of a leaf, how its edges are shaped, the layering of a flower’s petals. I look, I touch, I draw.
